Wow!! What a great place to stay, myself and three friends spend 2 nights in Amsterdam and had the time of our lives and I think what really made it was staying on jennie's houseboat it meant we could all be together unlike if we stayed in a hotel,I booked oasis houseboat a year in advance after a lot of research into accommodation I come across the Oasis and I couldn't get over how informative jennie's website was, what a lovely lady she is so helpful and nothing was a problem. The houseboat is situated in the most perfect location, near everything you could want or need,it was quiet, clean and tidy and the sofa bed was very comfortable we loved it so much we've decided to book again for 2020 can't wait! 10/10 Thanks again Jennie what a great place you have.
Two blissful nights
Even though we were only in Amsterdam for 2 nights, we had great time staying in the perfectly situated, clean, quiet and ever so comfortable Oasis houseboat. Jennie was (and I'm sure still is) a superb host. Everything went without a hiccup and I would definitely stay there again if I found myself wandering the canals of the Dutch capital in the future. Highly recommended!
My husband and I spent three nights on the Oasis. It was very comfortable and fully equipped. We also really enjoyed the location. The small canal was quiet, but we were very close to lots of restaurants and things to do. Jennie was very responsive and very informative. It was a great place to stay!
Perfect home away from home
My mother and I were planning a spontaneous trip to Amsterdam when we discovered it was a holiday weekend. By a lucky chance I discovered Jennie and her lovely houseboat. We corresponded by email and she changed her plans in order to accommodate our adventure. Her home was a perfect match for us. Quiet neighborhood. Easy to get around by public transportation. Restaurants just a few steps away. You can stay at an average hotel near the airport. But it is not the same visit to Amsterdam. You have to stay on the water to truly have a feel of the city. Ducks would visit our window. We had a lovely view. The houseboat, itself, had everything you needed. Coffee, tea, spices, oils were all available for our use in the full size kitchen. The boat was spotless. Bedding was very comfortable. And the bathroom was surprisingly large with a great shower. Jennie met us at the houseboat when we arrived and provided all instructions, guidebooks, and contact information if we needed anything during our stay. If you want a special place to stay - this is your "home away from home."
A friend and I stayed on Jennie’s houseboat over a weekend in early March. Jennie was an amazing host, very responsive and accommodating, the houseboat itself is very clean, comfortable and has everything you need to make you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door. The location is perfect and is just a short walk from everything in town, including Centraal station which is no more than a 10 min by foot. Jennie’s houseboat is highly reccomeneded, I’ll definitely be coming back!
I was with my daughter who studies in Holland for a few days in Amsterdam. the houseboat is just fantastic to say the least. Everything is there from coffee to tea and all spices you need for cooking. That makes it very easy. The shower was perfect and the beds confi.
It is so great you are just in the middle of Amsterdam
Thank you so much for providing this wonderful boat
Stephan and Viana
Would recommend this to anyone I know who is looking to go to Amsterdam.
1. Jennie and Herman wonderful hosts. Punctual, trusting and friendly.
2. There were 3 of us and the boat was perfectly big enough for us. Large sized bathroom for a boat and lovely bright open living room.
3. Entire boat was clean and tidy with fresh sheets and towels.
4. Welcome pack with map and other helpful things.
5. About 7 mins walk to Dam Sq with the houseboat been in a lovely quiet areas.
6. The living room is at water level so you can interact with the ducks and swans - watch out for the seagulls! There are about 12 boats that come past on busy days but if this bothers you there are some fabulous light blinds to keep it from seeming dark.
7. Large fridge
8. Hairdryer and other essential products in bathroom.
9. Check in/our easy and flexible.
10. Warm and cosy
I could go on, this was my 7th visit to Amsterdam. I’ve stayed in places ranging from a hostel to the krasnapolsky (rubbish) and the house boat is where I will always book in future, great experience!
We are fully in line with the numerous very postive assessments already done on the Oasis houseboat. The location is really unique considering its tranquility and the walking distance towards shops and tourist attractions.
Such the houseboat does mean a very interesting option for visitors of A'dam.
I can not say enough about how great this place is. Who does not want ducks at their window? Nice amount of space way better then a hotel for sure Jennie and Herman were wonderful.
Right in the heart of Amsterdam. Only bad thing was, I was not there longer! I will be back.
